Challenge

The Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer at the Department of Energy (OCHCO) requested a solution to their need to promote crucial leadership behavior among its executive team based on employee feedback in the 2021 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) scores.

Solution

In response, Bloomsburie conceptualized, designed, and developed the Let’s Lead! Fostering a Climate for Change initiative. This initiative included a webpage which housed simplified leadership behaviors, job aids, and microlearning resources. Bloomsburie created a communication path to focus on three critical behaviors which were Fostering Trust and Respect, Effectively Addressing Issues, and Communicate Effectively. To engage the audience effectively, Bloomsburie rolled out the behaviors in phases by way of animated video, informative microlearning content, and gamification.

Benefit

The Department of Energy FEVS scores improved dramatically in 2022. In 2023, Bloomsburie team members were awarded the Department of Energy Secretary’s Honor Award for our work on the Let’s Lead! Initiative.
